Absolute Vans is a leading challenger brand in the competitive van sales and leasing market, supplying vans from manufacturers such as Ford, Volkswagen, and Mercedes-Benz to customers across the UK.

Founded in 2016, the business has grown rapidly, establishing itself as a trusted name in the industry, recognised for exceptional customer service.

From shifting consumer behaviour and evolving regulations to major supply chain disruptions and changing manufacturer trends, Absolute Vans has had to adapt constantly to find and serve customers effectively.

Patter has partnered with Absolute Vans since 2017, forging a long-term relationship focused on growth. Over this time, we have built three versions of the Absolute Vans website, advised on strategy, and managed the brand’s end-to-end marketing.

Our work spans the full customer journey, from customer acquisition through to implementing back-office technology that streamlines transactions.

Most recently, we designed and built a new website for Absolute Vans, transforming how customers search for and request van quotes. This has led to an immediate increase in both the quantity and quality of leads generated each month.

The Problem

Since the pandemic, the way consumers shop for new vehicles has changed.

Despite Absolute Vans adopting an online-only business model long before it became the norm, increasing competition has made the market more challenging. More online brokers have emerged, manufacturers are shifting towards an agency model, and leading technology platforms are pushing consumers to complete their purchases away from main dealers.

As these trends converged in 2024, it became clear that Absolute Vans needed to evolve again to stay ahead of the competition.

As an online business, the Absolute Vans website acts as both the forecourt and sales floor. It is responsible for attracting customers, educating them on vehicles and finance options, and initiating the sales process by encouraging quote requests.

The previous website was falling behind industry standards in key areas such as search and discoverability, usability, and lead conversion. Combined with wider industry challenges and rising paid advertising costs, Absolute Vans needed to act to remain competitive.

The Solution

In early 2025, we launched a new website for Absolute Vans, redesigned and developed from the ground up to better meet the needs of both customers and the business.

Search and discoverability were reimagined to give visitors greater control over the vehicles displayed. This included broad options, such as searching by make, model, or size, alongside more granular choices, such as filtering for vans with Apple CarPlay or reverse sensors.

Search results pages were redesigned to provide more detail. Visitors can now see multiple images of each van, key features, and a headline finance quote at a glance.

Van listing pages were also completely overhauled to prioritise key areas of interest, simplify the quote request process, and present finance examples in a clearer, more digestible way. Globally editable blocks, including FAQs and customer reviews, were added to improve social proof and allow for easy site-wide updates.

The website’s backend, built on WordPress, was rebuilt to speed up and simplify van listings. The time required to populate a new listing was reduced from hours to minutes, allowing for faster updates and fewer internal resources.

The quote request process was also redesigned. The lead form is now split into two independent sections to encourage prospects to provide as much information as possible.

The first stage collects a prospect’s name, email address, and phone number, which is sent instantly to Absolute Vans via CRM integration.

The second stage invites the prospect to provide more details, including their preferred van, key finance terms such as duration and annual mileage, and any part-exchange vehicle information. If completed, this data is added to the initial request, enabling the sales team to respond more quickly and effectively.

The Outcome

The new Absolute Vans website now attracts more quote requests at a lower cost per lead while generating higher-quality enquiries. These improvements put the brand in a much stronger position to navigate ongoing industry changes.

The website is part of our continuous improvement programme with Absolute Vans, which covers everything from paid advertising and customer acquisition to re-engagement email automation and back-office systems.
